Merano lounge chair: fourth Good Design Award for B-LINE

Merano lounge chair: fourth Good Design Award for B-LINE

9 January 2018

For B-LINE, 2017 was most successfully concluded since, for the third consecutive time, it conquered the prestigious Good Design Award, established in 1950, and adjudged by the expert Chicago Athenaeum panel, called on to select design excellence on an international scale.

The products belonging to the B-LINE collection that can proudly boast of this important acknowledgement, now total four.
This time, the protagonist is Merano, designed by the Italo-Finnish duo, Raffaella Mangiarotti and Ilkka Suppanen. Presented in combination with a pouf/courtesy seat, it was selected together with over 900 products of various commodity categories coming from 46 different countries.

This is a lounge chair characterised by evident Scandinavian traits, completed by generously padded cushioning on a slender steel frame. Suitable for outdoors as well, and compactable for easy transportation, it represents a combination of rationality, linearity, stylistic harmony and ergonomics.
This is the winning mix that earned Merano the coveted prize and the prestigious adjudication of the Good Design Award’s 67th edition.
