B—Line is a company specialised in designer furnishings which, ever since its beginnings, has manufactured contemporary products along with evergreen icons from the past, such as Joe Colombo’s famous Boby storage trolley. Solid, transversal and flexible designs, the result of collaborations with international designers and of an exclusively Italian production.
B—Line is a company, brainchild of its founder, Giorgio Bordin, that restores life to several historical icons of design on the Italian scenario. These are works that have disappeared over the years, made obsolete by the unrelenting ferment of a market that is brimming with innovation. Of the products re-edited, some have made history “contaminating” many facets of art and design, such as Joe Colombo’s famous Boby.
From the very beginning, side by side with its re-editions, B—Line places contemporary furnishing accessories, resulting from collaborations with international designers. Tangible, factual and transversal projects that have the responsibility and honour to co-exist with the great cornerstones of design and to encourage, in terms of style and character, a smooth switch from home environments to working spaces and from outdoors to indoors, areas that are increasingly hybrid and mercurial, as demanded by contemporary lifestyles.
2018 Good Design Awards: a coveted award for B—Line’s excellence
8 January 2019

Good Design is one of the most prestigious awards for design on an international scale, annually awarded by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design. This tribute acknowledges and celebrates the work of designers and companies striving at global level to create and turn out products pursuing the canons of design and innovation.

Already awarded 4 Good Design Awards – Gemma 2013 / Fishbone 2015 / Helix 2016 / Merano 2017 – the 68th GOOD DESIGN 2018 panel, convened in Los Angeles last November, has, for the fourth consecutive year, chosen B—Line to be among the winners of the coveted recognition, with the prize this time being awarded for not just one, but for two products.

In the B—Line fold, decorated with the unmistakable black seal of the GOOD DESIGN logo for 2018, was the small Bix armchair designed by the Zanellato-Bortotto duo, characterised by the generous modularity which allows numerous configurations offered by different bases and upholstering combinations, as well as the essential and rigorous Fonda table by Maddalena Casadei, both perfectly suited to home, contract and office contexts.

The all-important coupling of aesthetics and versatility earned B—Line the adjudication of the 2018 Good Design Awards, confirming the excellence of a dynamic enterprise whose growth within the international design scenario is unflagging.
