Boby is a staunch veteran of architect and artist studios. It has entered homes throughout the world, where it can be found in kitchens or making place for papers, telephones, plants and objects of every kind. It works in doctors rooms and it even finds time for a spot in motion pictures, for example featuring with Tom Cruise in the recent production “Oblivion”.
The injection-moulded ABS plastic trolley storage unit designed by Joe Colombo was awarded first prize at SMAU way back in 1971 and is part of the permanent MoMA collection and of Milan’s “Triennale”.
And it never stops growing.
Nowadays, B-LINE is already revving up for Milan’s upcoming “Salone”, preparing the launch of the extra-small Boby, ideal for use as a bedside table and perfect for small objects.
A new lime-green version will follow, with the addition of a set of three wooden shelves to level the upper section and to give a touch of warmth to this evergreen: a detail that will make the purists as well as the lovers of its more extreme pop spirit equally happy.
