What is behind every B-LINE product? How does the company work during the year? Who contributes to the success of the brand?

Manufacturing in Italy and exporting to all five continents entails having knowledge on how to address an international public. It is for this that B-LINE works with the designers it loves most, independently of their passport, and it is for the same reason that the firm is always open to journalists wanting to talk design.

B-LINE presents Michael Geldmacher, of Neuland Industriedesign, in a semi-private talk on the double personality of the new Abra low table. And then Giorgio Bordin, B-LINE’s Sole Director, who was also interviewed at the stand’s “inside” space during Milan’s latest “Salone del Mobile”.

Snoop and Woopy meet their designer at Milan’s 2011 “Salone Internazionale del Mobile”. What are Karim Rashid’s thoughts on design, innovation, fashion, colours, Bonetto or... running shoes? Milan’s “Salone” was a veritable “marathon” in which B-LINE did the …. running. Now and again the staff even managed to take a breather, sitting on Woopy and Snoop and admiring the psychedelic nature scenes. But then, Abracadabra!, visitors continued to materialise (we also hosted two very well attended press events).

The calendar would seem to suggest leeway of about a month to the start of Milan’s “Salone Internazionale del Mobile” but, in actual fact, the ribbon is to be cut tomorrow! With its third consecutive participation, B-LINE inaugurates a completely redesigned stand which presents the outdoors – indoors as its theme. The chromatic play and combination of materials profoundly change the visitor’s expectations, doing away with the barriers between indoor and outdoor environments. (Will it be the garden invading the home or the home spreading out into the garden?)

The time has come for the identity of the 2011 products to be revealed. After having left a series of playful clues for our Facebook and Twitter friends, B-LINE staff is proud to present their latest collaboration with the great Karim Rashid and a new creation from the German duo Neuland Industriedesign. Woopy is signed by Rashid and consists of a comfortably enfolding seat available in small armchair or stool versions, the latter with chromium plated footrest. In rotomoulded polyethylene, Woopy is just perfect for use both indoors and outdoors.

Interior design is moving towards exteriors. An oxymoron? A provocation? Or simply PE? B-LINE begins the new year by once again speaking of itself, starting from the most versatile products, those that really make no difference whether for lawn or parquet, for interiors or exteriors.
